Nothing completes an NC mountain getaway like a trip to the vineyards! It’s the perfect activity for a fun girl’s trip, a couple’s retreat, or just a relaxing weekend away. Here are a few of our favorite wineries in Western NC:

1. Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards

Situated on 10 gorgeous acres in Henderson County, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards should be at the top of your list! This vineyard produces some of the best grapes in the state and features a year-round tasting room. From Riesling blends to Cabernets, this winery truly has something for everyone. Choose your favorite and then sit back on the patio and enjoy incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

2. Burntshirt Vineyards

Just two miles from Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, Burntshirt Vineyards is known for their award-winning wines. The family-owned winery offers daily tastings, free tours, and weekly live music. If you would like some small bites to pair with your wine, you can even stop by their on-site Vintner’s Table Food Truck on Saturdays and Sundays. They offer a great selection of wine-infused treats, cheeses, and vintner’s sandwiches. Afterward, drive five minutes down the road and visit one of the nearby apple orchards.

3. Overmountain Vineyards

Located on a sprawling 70-acre farm in Tryon, North Carolina, Overmountain Vineyards offers a winery experience like no other. Their tasting room is open year-round, and the front porch offers spectacular vistas of the surrounding Foothills. The outdoor fire pit also makes for an excellent place to gather during the cold winter months.

With 17 acres of French vinifera, the winery’s Petit Manseng, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot are all excellent. And you won’t want to miss out on their annual Event Series. Kicking off in the spring and running through fall, you can enjoy live music and local food with your wine!

4. Biltmore Estate Winery

What could be better than sipping wine and touring America’s oldest home? Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, you are in for a special treat when visiting the historic Biltmore Estate Winery. Here, you can enjoy complimentary tastings of more than 20 handcrafted wines including reds, whites, and rosés. They also offer reserves and sparkling wines by the glass.

While you are there, we highly recommend taking an exclusive Vine to Wine Tour. One of the best NC wine tours, it’s also a great way to explore the Estate’s incredible grounds. If you would like to save on your Biltmore Estate tickets, we also offer an incredible Biltmore Package.
