Your Complete Guide to Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards

About the Vineyards

Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards is one of the region’s most beloved wineries! In fact, their growth and popularity have resulted in a brand new location. Now, you can sip and savor the best of their wines in two beautiful tasting rooms, one in Hendersonville and the other in downtown Flat Rock.

Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards of Hendersonville, N.C.

The Hendersonville vineyard is only 20 minutes from The Esmeralda Inn & Restaurant. Here, there are 14 varieties of grapes at elevations of 2,300 and 3,000 feet. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Blue Ridge Mountains! What more could you ask for in a North Carolina winery? The walnut bar, indoor seating, and outdoor patio are only steps away from five acres of grapevines, and wine tasting is available each day!

From Sonoma to Western N.C.

Alan Ward, the founder of Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, is a graduate of California Polytechnic University with more than 14 years of wine production experience. Ward heard a speaker at a conference say that growing world-class wine grapes in North Carolina was impossible. Immediately, he set out to prove the speaker wrong. After five years of research and experimentation, Alan Ward opened Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards in August 2012. Today, he is the modern-day pioneer of winemaking in Henderson County.
