The Tryon International Equestrian Center Show Schedule

1. SATURDAY NIGHT LIGHTS | MAY – NOVEMBER

The Saturday Night Lights Grand Prix is a free weekly event that features horseback riding at its finest. It’s one of the Center’s most popular events and includes an exciting riding competition, live music, food, and plenty of kid’s activities. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the competition begins at 8. Be sure to check the TIEC Facebook page for event updates!

Pro Tip: If you’ve never been to a horse show before, we recommend visiting the Horse Show 101 page to learn more about the competition you’ll be watching.

2. HUNTER/JUMPER HORSE SHOWS | APRIL – JUNE

The Tryon International Equestrian Center presents multiple hunter/jumper events each spring. There are three main divisions at a hunter/jumper horse show: hunter, jumper, and equitation. In all three, a rider guides a horse over a course of obstacles. However, each is scored differently – show hunters are judged on manners and the presentation of horse and rider. Jumper scores are entirely objective and are based on faults, falls, timing, etc.

3. FEI WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES | SEPTEMBER 10 – 23

In 2018, the Tryon International Equestrian Center will host the 14-day FEI World Equestrian Games administered by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the worldwide governing body of equestrian sport. It’s held every four years and is the most important event on the world equestrian calendar next to the Olympic Games. Don’t miss it!

OTHER FUN THINGS TO DO

At TIEC, the excitement isn’t just contained to the track! You can shop for professional-grade riding gear at Tryon Tack, or grab a bite to eat Pizza Oven or Blue Ginger Sushi & Noodles.
