Cedar Creek Riding Stables is a public horseback riding facility that’s nestled in the beautiful mountains of Lake Lure, North Carolina. Established in 1993, this family-owned and operated business offers a variety of outdoor activities for guests of all ages. Plan a Trip to Cedar Creek Riding Stables
Trail Rides
Cedar Creek Riding Stables offers three unique trail rides for guests. The first is the Laurel Mountain Trail, which includes a one-hour climb into the forest, across creeks, and along trails lined with wild laurel thickets. The second guided ride is the Nettles Trail. This 1.5-hour adventure takes you through the woods and past a number of scenic fields. The Overlook Trail is the most popular ride and features a two-hour excursion on 350 acres of trails. You’ll even climb to the top of a mountain to enjoy the fabulous overlook view! Trail rides are available year-round from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pony Rides
Traveling with little ones? You’re in luck! Cedar Creek Stables offers pony rides for kids ages 8 and under. This short trail ride is lead by a staff member and ventures around a scenic 3-acre lake. Pony rides are just $10 per person.
Tips For Your Ride
Whether you’re an experienced equestrian or just starting out, Cedar Creek’s friendly and informative staff will help you ride like a pro. Prior to the ride, you’ll have a quick briefing on how to control your horse and how to be safe. Helmets are also available and must be worn by guests under the age of 16. Other Activities
In addition to horseback riding, Cedar Creek Riding Stables offers a number of outdoor recreational activities for guests. You can search for treasure at the gem mine, enjoy catch-and-release fishing on the lake, or host an event at the new Cedar Creek Pavilion.
