The Best Places for Rock Climbing in North Carolina

CHIMNEY ROCK STATE PARK

Chimney Rock is one of the most beautiful parks in North Carolina. Here, you will find that rock climbing is available year-round! Fox Mountain Guides is the leader of the rock climbing tours at Chimney Rock State Park. You must be at least seven years of age and all tours must be booked in advance. LOOKING GLASS ROCK

Looking Glass Rock is located at Pisgah National Forest. It is one of the most popular spots in Western North Carolina for rock climbers, and for a good reason! This location is great for all levels of climbers. The routes available can take anywhere from an hour to an entire day to complete; it all depends on which one you take! Although you can enjoy this climb throughout the year, fall and winter are the best seasons for climbing.

CEDAR ROCK

Cedar Rock is another popular place for rock climbing at Pisgah National Forest. It is a great mountain for climbers of every skill level, offering a variety of different climbs. While you are visiting Pisgah National Forest, be sure to take your time to explore everything else that the park offers!
