About Lake Lure Olympiad
Over 1,500 athletes flock to Western North Carolina each year for the Lake Lure Olympiad Sports Event. It is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. Since its inception over 13 years ago, this local event has donated over $315,000 to charities and service organizations in the area.
The Sporting Events
The sporting events at Lake Lure Olympiad are extensive, so no matter your age or endurance level, there is something here for everyone! Events for biking, swimming, running, walking, pickleball, and golf are all offered. Among the most popular events are the Lake Lure Triathlon, the Lake Lure Dam Run, and the Lake Lure Half Marathon. The Junior Olympiad is another popular event for families. This special event is designed for children ages 4 through 14. Check the 2018 festival schedule to register!
Tips for Your Trip
- The 2018 Lake Lure Olympiad is scheduled for August 10 through the 12.
