The Best Things to Do at Looking Glass Falls

Where is Looking Glass Falls and How Did it Get its Name

Tucked away in the Pisgah National Forest, Looking Glass Fall’s unique location lends itself to some incredible outdoor recreation. The name Looking Glass is best understood in the winter when the water freezes and, thanks to sunlight, becomes an incredible mirror for your early morning! The waterfall is a 60-foot drop that is easily accessible while you visit Brevard, NC.

How do you Find Looking Glass Falls

Looking Glass Falls is popular because it is easy to find and is a very gentle climbing hike to reach. Just park at the Looking Glass Falls Parking lot and take the well-blazed 3-mile, 1,700-foot hike to the falls. Allow for a whole day as the hike can take 4-5 hours roundtrip if you’re a family or prefer to take your time and sightsee as you navigate Pisgah National Forest.

What is Around Looking Glass Falls

While you are at Looking Glass Falls, you are allowed to swim, take pictures, and bring food but be sure not to climb on rocks as they are wet and can be very risky.
