About the Biltmore Estate Winery

Located in the heart of Antler Village, the Biltmore Estate Winery is the most visited winery in the country. In the early 1970’s, George Vanderbilt’s grandson, William Cecil, was the first person to plant vines at Biltmore Estate. The vineyards were eventually moved to their current location on the west side of the property, where nearly 150 acres were planted with vinifera grapes. In 1985, the winery opened its doors to the public and has been extremely successful ever since. Producing more than 150,000 cases of wine annually, Biltmore Estate continues to raise the bar for wineries around the country.

Things to Do at the Biltmore Estate Winery

1. Tastings

Complimentary tastings at the winery are offered daily and they are always included with your admission. The tasting includes more than 20 samples of some of the estate’s finest reds, whites, and roses. After the tasting, feel free to linger at the Biltmore Wine Bar and order your favorite wines by the glass, as well as cheeses and locally-made truffles.

2. Specialty Experiences

In addition to complimentary tastings, you may choose to add on a specialty experience. Take a “Behind the Scenes Winery Tour & Tasting” to learn about the estate’s vineyards and the fermentation process. If you would like to see the vineyards firsthand, the exclusive “Vine to Wine Vineyard Tour and Tasting” will take you to areas of the property that most guests never see. And we highly recommend the “Red Wine and Chocolate Tasting!” There truly is no better combination. Click here for a complete list of specialty experiences offered at the Biltmore Estate Winery.
