The Best Ways to Enjoy Christmas at Biltmore Estate

The Annual Tree Raising | November 1, 2018

The centerpiece of Christmas at Biltmore is the 35-foot Fraser Fir Christmas tree in the estate’s banquet hall. Hundreds of guests gather at the front of the house to watch as 40 Biltmore workers take the tree inside. After the tree is in place, the decorating team adds 500 lights, ornaments, and packages throughout the day. If you want to catch Santa Claus delivering the tree to the front door, be sure to arrive early! Saint Nicolas makes his appearance at 10:00 a.m.

Christmas Daytime Celebration | November 3, 2018 – January 6, 2019

The Christmas Daytime Celebration is a must for people of all ages. You can look forward to exploring more than 50 sparkling Christmas trees, beautifully appointed fireplaces with wreaths and garlands, stunning lights and ornaments, and the scent of fresh evergreens floating through the air. After a walk through the grand house, enjoy sipping on commemorative Christmas wine at the Biltmore Winery, or order a meal from the special holiday menu! Biltmore’s Christmas Daytime Celebration is available daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Candlelight Christmas Evenings | November 3, 2018 – January 6, 2019

From fireplace mantels draped with evergreens to towering trees dripping with lights, Candlelight Christmas Evenings are a sight to behold. These evening events are a cherished Biltmore tradition, offering live music and magnificent decorations. The self-guided Candlelight tour also includes daytime admission to Antler Hill Village & Winery and the estate’s gardens, shops, and restaurants. Candlelight tours are available by reservation only and begin each night at 5:30 p.m.
