What to Expect from the Annual Sourwood Festival

1. Oh, Honey!

Held each year in August, the Sourwood Festival marks the start of the Sourwood honey selling season. This special honey is culled from the Sourwood tree, which is indigenous to the Southern Appalachian area. While at the festival, guests can learn all about the honey and the hard working bees that create it. Feel free to chat with the beekeepers and pick up a jar of fresh, delicious honey to bring home with you.

2. Vendors, Vendors, Vendors

There’s so much to enjoy at the Sourwood Festival! In fact, you can expect to see over 200 vendors selling a wide range of goods and products. From artisans offering jewelry and paintings to restaurants dishing up plates of BBQ and funnel cakes, you’ll love exploring our region’s local talent.

3. Family-Friendly Activities

If you’re traveling with the kids, you’re in luck; this festival is perfect for little ones. Children of all ages can enjoy face painting booths, arts and crafts stations, and plenty of fun games. Plus, the festival grounds provide a safe, alcohol-free environment. Who knows – you might have an aspiring beekeeper on your hands!
